The Ministry of Racial Equity (MIR) established a partnership with the public health organization Vital Strategies for the creation of this platform, which makes timely and accessible data available to all of society and specially for public administration. With funding from Instituto Ibirapitanga, this project coordinates different partners to generate, interpret and disseminate data, gradually promoting the transformation of the existing racial inequities in Brazil’s health policies.
Brazil’s Ministry of Racial Equality (MIR) is the federal public administration body responsible for planning, coordinating and executing public policies to promote racial equity and combat racism on a national basis.
Vital Strategies is a global health organization. We work with governments and civil society to design and implement evidence-based strategies and policies to address some of the world’s greatest public health challenges. We seek solutions that can be quickly scaled and can improve the lives of millions of people. Vital Strategies’ Racial Equity Front is funded by Instituto Ibirapitanga, an organization dedicated to the defense of freedoms and the deepening of democracy in Brazil, and which supports initiatives through its two programs: racial equity and food systems.
