Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) constitute one of the greatest challenges for public health and are currently the leading causes of death in Brazil. In 2019, the World Health Organization listed NCDs among the top 10 threats to global health. The main NCDs are cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, and mental and neurological conditions.
The studies presented here seek to investigate how limited access to healthy environments affect the black population. The goal is to deepen the understanding of this group, contributing to the development of policies that meet their needs and promote a healthier life.
